Van Conversion

Van builds are very personal, so we expect and welcome any ideas you might have in addition to our Base Package, and will work with you every step of the way to realising your vision.

Base Package

All of our van conversions start with our Base Package. This includes what we consider to be the essentials to get out adventuring: a comfortable bed in a clean space with an electrical system to run lights and 12v outlets for charging devices, two swivel-seat bases to maximize space up front, a roof vent to for good ventilation and a heating system for those cold nights.

 
 

Insulation

We use 3M Thinsulate insulation to provide a clean solution that offers more acoustic absorption per unit weight vs. competitive products. The Non-woven sound absorbing fibers create a quieter vehicle environment and the hydrophobic fibers resist moisture, mold and mildew

Walls / Roof / Floor

We offer a clean and simple approach to covering the walls, ceiling, and floors. Our standard method for this is using upholstered plywood covered panels for the walls, vinyl covered plywood for the ceiling and Lonseal Vinyl flooring.

Electrical

Our base electrical system includes:

  • 200Ah Lithium Battery Bank

  • 6x 12v Puck lights throughout ceiling, with dimmer switch control

  • Victron system to allow charging from the vehicle’s alternator (30A)

  • 2 x Blue Sea 12v outlets placed throughout the living area to allow charging of mobile phones and accessories

Bed platform

Our custom designed sleeping platforms come as standard and are built with durability, comfort and practicality in mind. 

  • Tig welded Aluminium frame

  • Wooden bed slats

  • 4 inch memory foam mattress

  • Orientated for sleeping lengthways along van

Heating & Ventilation

Eberspacher or Espar for short if you struggle with your Deutsch like us. We offer the full product line including servicing. Gasoline heaters have a small up-charge as the units are more expensive. (No we don’t install Chinese heaters as we value safety and reliability.)

Maxxair Roof Vent (Smoke / White lid)

Swivel Seats

Swivel seats open up the front end of the vehicle and makes the living space considerably larger. We offer 2x scopema swivel seat base installs for both driver and passenger seats as standard.

Roof Vent

Having ventilation is critical to managing temperature and airflow in a van, which is why we supply and install the renowned Maxxair 7500k roof fan as standard in all of our builds.

Upgrades

We have designed our Base Package to be incredibly flexible, allowing for pretty much any upgrade you can think of. Here is a list of the most common upgrades to help get you thinking about what you might need. If you don’t see it listed, just drop us a line and one of our designers will get back to you with a price. 

Everything you see listed here can either be added to your full conversion project with us, or we can do anything as a stand-alone service. See partial builds for more information.

 

+ Base package upgrades

We can configure our Base Package in any way you like. Often, changes need to be made to accommodate any specific requests.

Example changes:

  • Changes to materials - e.g. tweed covered ply panels or tongue and groove cedar ceiling
  • Internal Bump-outs (common on Promasters) to allow for East - West sleeping (across the vehicle)
  • Swapping Vinyl Plank flooring for Lonseal Sheet Vinyl
  • Adding L-track to secure loads in the garage area
  • Custom paint or finishing
  • Custom bicycle slide out trays

+ Layout changes

Our Base Package allows for the maximum amount of flexibility regarding layouts. If you have seen a layout that catches your eye, or have a specific idea in mind, talk to us and we’ll work with you to come up with a plan and a price.

Example changes:

  • Changing the standard fixed bed platform in to a c-shape couch that converts in to a bed
  • Adding a shower/toilet wet room
  • Adding closet space

+ Galley Package

Add our standard galley package including induction cooktop (single burner), sink & faucet + 12v Fridge.

+ Systems upgrades

There are, of course, many many systems that can be added to a van build, so if there is something you don’t see listed in our Base Package that you would really like, just let us know and we’ll be happy to factor that into your design.

Example upgrades:

  • Heating system installation (Webasto or similar)
  • AC unit installation
  • Hot water system installation
  • Water tank installation (underslung or inside the vehicle) with exterior freshwater fill hatch and plumbing.
  • Exterior shower

Electrical upgrades:

  • Extra auxiliary batteries
  • Swap AGM battery for Lithium Ion battery
  • Add inverter for 110v power (plus power outlets throughout vehicle)
  • Add bluetooth battery monitor
  • Supply and install solar panels and solar charge controller

+ Custom Cabinetry

Another very common upgrade is to add overhead storage to the living area of the van. We do all of our fine woodwork and cabinetry in house and our experienced team can match any design aesthetic and work with whichever material you choose. Prices vary depending on how intricately designed the cabinets are, and the quality of the materials/hardware chosen.

+ Windows and Vents

If the vehicle you are looking at bringing to us doesn’t have windows, no worries! We can supply and install side, rear, vent and sliding windows from a variety of manufacturers to fit your vehicle’s specifications.
